My Little Home Movie Star

June 25, 2015 by Brielle

America's Funniest Home Videos

It was all fun and games until two little girls became an internet sensation…Emry and Ava. Yes, two sweet adorable cousins.

A few weeks ago we were having a family birthday party at my parents’ house up in Utah for my 2-year old niece, Ava. Of course we had to take advantage of the nice weather, so we headed to the neighborhood pool with all the kiddos.

To preface, Emry has been taking swim lessons and absolutely HATED them. She HATES being cold and the pool just wasn’t quite warm enough back in AZ for her liking. But as soon as the weather turned warm, and the pools began heating up, my little scaredy-cat morphed into a fish. She LOVES swimming.!

Right before coming to Utah, she had learned to jump off the diving board. Naturally, she wanted to show off this new-found skill to all her Utah family and friends. She hesitantly, yet bravely, stepped her way onto the diving board and was inching her way to the edge when sweet, impatient little Ava comes barreling behind her and pushes her off the edge.

Yes, I LAUGHED.

Yes, my sister-in-law LAUGHED.

Yes, the entire pool LAUGHED.

Some may say that I am a bad parent for allowing it to happen even though I was right there to catch her.

Some may say that my sister-in-law is a bad parent for not reprimanding her right away.

BUG OFF!

Haha! Just kidding…kind of.

But really, such is life. You live moment by moment and try to enjoy every second. Both girls were safe and watched over. Both learned different lessons (my daughter’s more traumatic than Ava’s), but in the end we all chose to LAUGH NOW and TEACH LATER. Haha!

And to all those wondering, brave little Emry Pie is safe and sound and right back at ’em swimming around like the little fish she is. No harm done!

So if you enjoyed the video, at the expense of my sweet daughter, please share, share, SHARE for a chance for our family to appear on America’s Funniest Home Videos. I would greatly appreciate it!
